Makeup

Hey Y'all,

Today I am telling y'all about the products I regret buying. Since I am a product junkie and I love to try out a lot of products, I do run into some horrible products. About 30% of the products I buy don't impress me or they are awful and I can't even use them. So today I decided to pull them rom the back of my drawers and warn y'all about them. Since I have so many I am going to do it by: makeup, skincare, and hair care. I will have them on separated post, so watch out for them to come. But today I am doing the makeup, so lets get to it.

Starting out with my favorite thing to buy, which is foundation. I have ran into some bad foundation but the two that I really dislike is the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Crème and the Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation. The Revlon is actually a really popular foundation, but I cannot stand it. When applying this foundation, I cannot stand the smell. To me is smell like sewer and oil mixed, I literally have to hold my breath to apply it. Also it is a flat finish on me, it looks like I put a mask on, so I regret this big time since it is around $12 I could have bought something much better. The Covergirl & Olay foundation is the same finish as the Revlon Whipped. It gives no dimension and looks like you caked makeup on. It also is very drying, even on oily skin.

Next is concealer. I love to buy concealers and try them out. The first high end concealer I ever bought was the Benefit Erase Paste. This concealer is a very thick consistency. It creases under the eye and is hard to blend out. It has great coverage but I find it hard to work with and to thick for my liking.

I have never been a fan of cream blushes. But I decided to try the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape. I find the constancy great, but there is little to no pigmentation. I have tried this on the cheeks and lips, and I see no difference. Maybe in a different color it would work, but I won't be repurchasing.

My sister raves about the Lorac Tantalizer Baked Bronzer. I decided to try it out and I hate it. It is a very shimmery bronze that it almost metallic. I could not see someone using this as a bronzer, but I finally found a way to use it as a eye shadow, which is gorgeous. But as a bronzer it is a bad deal.

Another bronzer that is horrible is the Maybelline Master Hi-Lighting Bronzer in Deep Bronze. I don't even believe this is a bronzer. It is a shimmery orange shade that is horrible. The formulation is great but the shade is not.

The Covergirl & Olay Powder is another product I regret. It is a chunky formula and it has small sparkles in it. When I look for a powder, I do not want any type of shimmer or glitter. So I was really disappointed in this powder.

Lastly is the Nyx Butter Lipstick in Hubba Bubba. It has great a great formulation, it is creamy and smooth. But the lasting power is horrible and this color is ugly. I thought it would be a pink nude, oh but was a wrong. I would recommend these lipsticks, but not in this shade.

So that is all for today. Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you enjoyed. Also keep in mind some of the products you might love, don't work for everyone and I don't meant to offend anyone if you do love one of these products. If you have any questions or comments just leave them down below. <3 RR

Hello Everybody

Sorry it took me forever to write another blog. I have been going through a transition in my life, since I am out of high school I now have to decide what I want to do with my life and I thought I had it all figured out, but now I am having second thoughts. But I am back now and I want to help all the beginners out there that are just starting with makeup. These products are all of my basic makeup, I do switch out a lot of products since I am always looking for the best. But the products I chose are great for starters.

Lets begin with foundations. For beginners I think a BB Cream is the best or a light foundation depending on your skin. If you have a clear complexion and little to no acne, then a BB cream would be ideal for you. If you have acne or any type of discoloration, a light foundation would be best. The Covergirl Clean Whipped Crème foundation is a light to medium coverage foundation depending on how you apply it. The reason I chose this foundation is because it is light weight on the skin. If you are a beginner you don't want a heavy foundation that you are not used to. Work your way up to using a full coverage, don't start out that way cause most likely you are not going to like the feel of it and be disappointed. The BB cream I chose was the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. I like this BB cream the best, because it has salicylic acid in it, which will help with acne. Since this BB cream is made for acne prone skin it has better coverage then other BB creams. Essential a BB cream will even out your skin tone and add some coverage to discoloration.

Concealer would be next. Not everyone needs a concealer but most like the extra coverage. Depending it you have dark circles under the eye or just a blemish to hide. The Covergirl & Olay De-Puffer eye concealer is great for brightening the under eye and concealing dark circles. I wouldn't say it has the best coverage, but it  does the job without getting cakey. It does have a metal tip applier, which helps with puffiness and it is more sanitary that a sponge applicator. If you are trying to hide a blemish that I would prefer the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. This concealer can actually hide blemishes and dark circles. It is a creamy concealer that doesn't crease, if you set it with powder.

Powder is great for adding extra coverage or for setting your makeup to last all day. Depending on how you apply a powder the coverage can change. If you apply with a sponge applicator, you will get the best coverage since you are packing it on. If you use a brush and dust it on it will just set the makeup. The Maybelline Dream Wonder powder is great for both. You could even use it as a foundation itself. It is creamy and not a dry powder feeling.

Following powder would be blush and bronzer. For a beginner I would advise you to just use a blush, just because bronzer can be tricky to apply. But I love bronzer I couldn't leave it out. The Elf Blush and Bronzer duo in St. Lucia is a great starter since the blush is a light pink that will compliment all skin tones, and the bronzer is a shimmer bronzer, which is great for adding a glow.

Since the most intimidating thing is eye shadow, I think for beginners the best would be a cream shadow. Cream shadows will last all day and you can just apply one and be good to go. I love the Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Shadows. Depending on what you like, you can do a light shadow like Barely Branded or a dark shadow like Bad to the Bronze. They are both a metallic and look good on everyone.

Next would be mascara, which is the most important to me. Mascara is going to open the eyes up and draw attention to them. Mascara will make you appear more awake and older. The Maybelline the Rocket Volume Mascara is a long time favorite for me. It keeps my lashes curled all day and doesn't smudge all over.

Finally would be lips. If you are a beginner than a lip gloss would be best. They are less maintenance and easier to apply. The Nyx Butter Glosses are they best drugstore lip gloss. They are super pigmented and non sticky. They range in all colors for every skin tone.

That is all for my basic makeup for beginners. I hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions or comments leave them down below. Thank You for reading. <3 RR

Hello Everybody,
Today I am going to be telling you my favorite Drugstore Makeup. I tried to include all of the makeup groups, but if I missed one or you are curious about any product I list below don't hesitate to comment down below.

So since I have a lot to talk about, I'll just get started.

Primer

L'Oreal Magic Perfecting base is by far my favorite primer out of the drugstore. It works just as well, if not better, than the Benefit Porefessional. I personally like the L'Oreal primer better. The primer helps keep my makeup on all day and it minimizes my pores SO much.  You barely can tell I even have pores. I would recommend for all skin types. ($12.99)

Foundation

The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-n-1 Foundation is my top foundation from the drugstore. Its overall package and product is just unbeatable. I love that it has a pump and that it is a medium to full coverage foundation. Depending on your skin and how you apply with determine the coverage. On myself the foundation would definitely be full coverage. Also the finish with out a powder is wonderful, I would call it a satin matte finish. But since I like a matte finish, I do have to powder. Also the staying power is great you can at least get 10 hours out of your wear. I would recommend for all skin types.($12.99)

Concealer

I am a huge concealer junkie, it is probably my favorite thing to shop for and try out. So I could just narrow it down to 1. But I did get it down to 2 and they would be: Maybelline Fit Me concealer($6.99) and Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer($8.99). I like both to cover up my under eye dark circles and they both do a good job on hiding my blemishes. The Fit Me concealer does better at hiding blemishes and the Instant Age Rewind does better at brightening my under eye are or highlighting around the face. It really just depends on which applicator you like better. I personally like the sponge on the Instant Age Rewind, since it is more convenient

Powder

Since I do have oily skin I love the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. If you have oily skin, this is the powder for you. It will keep you matte way better than any other powder out there. It is cheap so the package isn't the cutest but the product is what matters. If you have dry skin then I would recommend just setting you under eye with a translucent powder from ELF. ($4.99)

Bronzer

I really good bronzer is hard to come by while in the drugstore, but one that tends to stand out and look beautiful on everybody is the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in the shade Sunny. This bronzer feels so soft and creamy on the skin. I have had to repurchase it twice, since I love it so much, lucky for me it is cheap. ($2.79)

Blush

There are so many blushes in the drugstore it is hard to just narrow it down to one. But the two that I love are the: Milani Baked Blushes($8.49) and the Wet N Wild Blushers($2.99). The Wet N Wild blushers are so pigmented that you have to be careful with them, also they will last on the cheeks forever. The Milani Baked Blushes are a fan favorite. Even though they are a bit pricey for the drugstore, they are so worth it. The way the go on and sit on the cheeks is so gorgeous. They are a favorite for a reason. My favorite shades for Milani are: Berry Amore and Luminosity. My favorite shade for Wet N Wild is the Pearlescent Pink.

Highlight

There isn't a lot of highlighters in the drugstore so there isn't much to choose from. But my favorite one would have to be Hard Candy highlighter in the shade Tiki. It is a very smooth/fine powder that adds a beautiful glow to the cheek bones. If you do not own a high light I would definitely recommend to check out this one. ($9.00)

Eye shadow

Unlike a highlighter, you have so many choices of eye shadows. L'Oreal Infallible single eye shadows are the best but they are kind of pricey, so I chose to go with the Wet N Wild eye shadow trio($2.93) and the Maybelline "The Nudes" Pallet($10.00). The Wet N Wild shadows are extremely pigmented and super creamy and buttery. The reason I chose "The Nudes" pallet is because the shadows are really soft and creamy. The pigmentation could be better, but since this is the only pallet that the drugstore holds, I definitely recommend it.

Mascara

Mascara is the most important to a makeup look in my opinion. I cannot go out in public without at least some mascara on. My favorite would have to be the Revlon Lash Potion mascara in black. I love the packaging and the formula is perfect. I think it leans more on the wet side than the dry. The wand is long, which I love, and super full and voluminous. It not only thickens your lashes but lengthens them. ($8.49)

Brow Products

Since I already have thick sculpted eyebrows, I don't have to worry about them as much as others. But the products I do like are the NYX eyebrow shaper ($8.79),which is a wax pencil, and the Milani Easy Brow($4.99), which is a retractable pencil. The Easy Brow is easy to work if you are new as filling in your brows. The NYX eyebrow shaper is a must for everyone since it just keeps your brows under control without it being sticky or goopy.

Lip Stick

Since I can go on an on about lip product I chose just to talk about lipsticks. My favorite lipsticks are by Wet N Wild. The Wet N Wild Mega last lip color lipsticks are the best in the drugstore. Super pigmented and last awhile. All the shades are very wearable nothing crazy. Also they just glide on to the lips but they are not to creamy where they slide around. They almost stain your lips for longer wear. ($2.00)

Okay I think I went over all of the categories and all of my favorites. If you would like to know more in depth about any of the product listed above just leave a comment down below. I will be doing a post on my favorite high end product as well as my favorite drugstore makeup brushes, watch out for them. If you think I missed anything tell me below also if you have any request do the same. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. <3 RR
